Disease State Education
Clinical Bridges
Never has the clinician’s need for clear and authoritative information been
greater: The burden of chronic diseases is growing along with demographic and lifestyle
changes; there is an ever-changing flow of “new” or newly-recognized
disorders; there are no “silver bullets” for serious illnesses that
affect tens of millions of patients; and there is intense research into new diagnostic,
therapeutic, and prevention strategies that practitioners must understand and, where
appropriate, fit into patient care.
Yet never has this need been harder to meet: Today’s regulation, paperwork,
and pressure to see more and more patients make it all the more important that education
address true practice gaps and be delivered in creative and efficient ways that
best communicate key concepts.
The goal of Clinical Bridges, a division of KnowledgePoint360, is to identify and
address these practice gaps and reduce barriers to optimal care.
Clinical Bridges is the pioneer in clinical disease education. Working in tandem
with leaders in the medical community, we take a comprehensive approach to assessing
educational needs and then designing balanced, effective educational activities
to address those needs.
Clinical Bridges reaches physicians through multi-platform educational initiatives
in many of the most important therapeutic areas, using a combination of live meetings,
print materials, and award-winning Websites. We have strong scientific expertise,
in house and through our extensive relationships with experts in each area, and
keen understanding of adult learning principles and how best to apply them. We’re
especially proud of the high traffic to our Websites and the high attendance at
our seminars.

initiatives, contact Marianne O’Boyle Koch, president of Clinical Bridges,

The International Congress on Drug Therapy in HIV Infection
Familiarly known as “the Glasgow Congress”, the International Congress
on Drug Therapy in HIV Infection is one of the world’s largest and best-known
conferences on HIV/AIDS. It is held in November of even-numbered years, with the
Tenth International Congress scheduled for November 7-11, 2010, at the Scottish
Exhibition and Conference Center in Glasgow, U.K.
The Ninth International Congress, held in Glasgow in November 2008, attracted over
3,200 delegates from 79 nations for five days of educational sessions. The Congress
distinguishes itself through a highly scientific program, with state-of-the-art
presentations from an invited faculty of leaders in the field delivered in a series
of plenary sessions and sponsored satellite symposia. The aim is that the Congress
reflect the real progress and principal challenges in the treatment of HIV infection,
giving delegates understanding of the major issues to assist them in their own practices,
and that current research collaborations are strengthened and others formed.
The program for the International Congress is developed by a distinguished Organising
Committee chaired by Professor Ian Weller of the University College London Medical
School, with input from an international Scientific Committee of prominent authorities.
KnowledgePoint360 is proud to have been instrumental in establishing this prestigious
Congress in 1990 and has provided its services as the Organising Secretariat for
each Congress since then.
Much of the content from the Ninth Congress, plus additional educational resources
to improve care of HIV-positive patients, can be accessed at www.hivdrugtherapy.org. This site also features
information on the program for the Tenth Congress (HIV10), and will include registration
information closer to the date of the conference.
